We are a non-political, community-elected community organisation formed in 1980 to actively work to protect and improve the unique environment and lifestyle of the Bayswater peninsula. In July 2009 BCC became an incorporated society.

The Executive which manages the BCC's affairs is elected every two years at a public meeting. The Executive meets every two months to discuss local concerns, determine appropriate responses to local issues, and organised community events. We make both informal and formal representations to the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board, Auckland Council, Auckland Transport and other organisations to ensure the voice of Bayswater residents and ratepayers is heard.

A newsletter is distributed to all households on the Bayswater peninsula two or three times per year. Please contact us for the latest copy. We are now on Facebook . Please "like" our page to keep up with BCC news.

Our community events include beach clean-ups and planting and tidying reserves and O'Neill's Cemetery.

Bayswater has an interesting maritime and social history and many long time residents. We celebrate their memories and the history of Bayswater and Belmont by participating in the Auckland Heritage Festival (29 September - 14 October 2012).

See What's on in Devonport or our Facebook for upcoming events.

BCC members are actively involved in the Bayswater/Belmont Neighbourhood Response Plan developed in 2011 with Auckland Civil Defence.

If you would like to receive occasional email news from the BCC please email: bayswater@xtra.co.nz
