NiaVal and G. Lazaro: This Woman’s Work Is A Woman’s Worth

October 15, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

Saturday 15 October to Wednesday 2 November.
Two creatives discover the secrets behind their artistic gifts. Their journey of self discovery has been a challenging one, striving to keep their head above water in the sea of cultural customs, family obligations, religious restrictions and life.

Glass sculptures, installation, performance, illustrations, digital paintings and a creative little people space.

One artist soars through the sky’s highways using traditional and modern instruments to illustrate animated beings in elaborately designed artworks.

The other is connected to the earth; with her feet on solid ground she creates from her visions and wild imagination. Exercising her creative and spiritual energy she has gathered skilled artisans to assist as she creates visual narratives from earth’s organic materials, feminine objects and rhythmical sounds and movement.

Creating a soulful and nourishing plantation of work.

And therefore both women… a woman… can just be… and just breathe… into creativity.

The exhibition opening will include Cook Island and Turkish drumming, a children’s performance, audio / visual performances and more.

Opening and live performances: Saturday 15 October, 6pm to 8.30pm.
